About Cogitandium

I'm Pieter Enslin, and this is where I write about stuff I find interesting. I'm an enterprise architect, working in higher education. In Africa. Where you learn to do a lot. With very little. Unless you're overwhelmed by the lack of things that most people take for granted. Incredibly blessed and proud husband and dad. Strategic contrarian. Experienced novice in systems thinking. Incurable gearhead.

Festina Lente

Festina Lente literally means to make haste, slowly. Thinking carefully about what you want to do, so that you can do it quickly, do it once, and be done. Not having to do things over and over, is important to me.

However, the quality of the average technology solution is really not that good. Well, not the ones that I get called in to fix, so, I might be biased here. But in today's world, if your technology fails, your business fails as well. If I had a dollar.... Spending enough time on gaining insight into what you're solving, before you start spending money, pays of hansomely in future. Move with purpose, and fix things?
